So why’d I eat it, you may well be asking me through the cosmic airwaves. Well, it was low-calorie and healthy and all that stuff that is supposed to be good, but sometimes we just aren’t in the mood for it. I would have traded those celery sticks for just about anything else. I can tolerate them in the hot summer months, but choking down a cold stick of celery is truly, madly, deeply unappealing on a 16-degree day. — Debbie
Instant coffee. ‘Nuff said. — Molly
The most unappealing things I ate today were in a ‘box lunch’ meal as I was teaching an Army course this weekend and it was decided, for various reasons, that we would get this type of meal instead of going to the base’s cafeteria. This meal consisted of a cold meal put in a cardboard box for easy delivery. Inside the box, I had two prepared sandwiches (the type you get from a vending machine), a pudding, a Coca-Cola, a juice box, and some diced fruits. On the box, the label claimed that I would have a type of pizza sandwich and a forest ham sandwich. I would not have been happy to get the chicken salad sandwich as it’s what I got two weeks ago. Sadly, when opening the box, I noticed that the content didn’t match the label. My meal? An egg salad sandwich and… yes, you guessed it, a chicken salad sandwich!!! — Isabelle
