Tonight on the tube: Don’t Forget the Fifth Grade Deal, or something

SciFi

SciFi

8:00p/7:00 Central

  • Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader? I ask this assuming you’re beyond the fifth grade. Actually, FOX wants to know. Enough of us are watching this show; I wonder how we’re stacking up to the kids?
  • Or is NBC’s Deal or No Deal more your style? That don’t need you to know nuthin’! On ABC’s Wife Swap, take a Louisiana Cajun wife who’s overrun by her wild kids and husband and swap her with a California ballerina. That’s bound to be a hoot!
  • CBS’s Ghost Whisperer takes Melinda and Jim on a romantic, and of course haunted, cruise. For funnier fare, though, check out The CW’s Everybody Hates Chris. Classic sitcom hijinks as Chris tries to watch a movie instead of read the book for a class project. You know how this one ends. Then, on The Game, Kelly wants Jason to help her tell their daughter about their separation but he’ll have none of it.
  • He’ll probably be watching WWE SmackDown! on MyNetwork TV instead. Does anyone know how the ratings are over there for the perennial series?
  • TLC offers up another Real Simple. Real Life. Can they help Cheryl get organized? Have you figured out yet if Rita Rocks? At the half-hour, Lifetime’s five-night premiere for this new comedy wraps.

9:00p/8:00 Central

  • The History Channel’s exploration of the mob continues with a new Gangland. Supernanny comes in like a gangster, tough and take charge, but it’s to help a father reconnect with his teenage daughter on ABC’s Supernanny.
  • TLC offers up another What Not to Wear, while Bella remembers what she decided not to date on CBS’s The Ex List. Tonight, the ex in question is a surfer dude who may have aspired to more since they were together.
  • FOX wants you to make sure you Don’t Forget the Lyrics, while NBC wants you to not forget that Crusoe is on tonight. Not too many people saw it last week, so they must have forgotten it was on. It’s all hip and modern now!
  • Science fiction fans have to choose between the final season of Stargate: Atlantis on SciFi or the first season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars on Cartoon Network. Actually, they don’t because Stargate re-airs later tonight.

10:00p/9:00 Central

  • News offerings include ABC’s 20/20, which looks at the man who lives with wolves and a woman who may have been wrongly accused of murdering her foster child, versus BBC America’s Newsnight.
  • Maybe she’ll get Life on NBC. See what I did there? Because you can get sentenced to “life.” Ahem. Anywho, an earthquake hits LA and lets loose a killer Crews and Reese put away a year ago on the show.
  • Henry Winkler and Nora Dunn guest on CBS’s Numb3rs where decisions are made regarding Don’s future with the FBI and Charlie’s clearance. On Starz’s Crash, the police investigate a cop shooting, a Guatemalan begins his trek to the US and other storylines continue weaving.
  • Debra Messing is back on a new The Starter Wife on USA while TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress is “Rocking the Dress.” Hell, yeah! Wedding dresses!!
  • How about Sanctuary on SciFi? Tonight the team deals with a plane crash in the Himalayas. But of course, there’s more danger afoot than just the elements.

11:00p/10:00 Central

  • Then stay up for Real Time With Bill Maher. Tonight he’s got Tim Robbins, Matthew Dowd, Carol Leifer, Arthur Laffer and Allen Raymond on. I mean, what else were you going to do? You’re already home on a Friday night.
