Tonight on the tube: Coolio hopes to Rule Oxygen

Oxygen

Oxygen

8:00p/7:00 Central

  • While ABC Family deals with Johnny’s accident on Lincoln Heights, Dr. House and team tackle a man with accidental blackouts and time lapses over on FOX. Meanwhile, is Cuddy ready to adopt?
  • Over on CBS, a killer plays a game of cyber cat and mouse on NCIS, because killers always think that makes them look cool. Alternately, Rita demands respect of her own on Lifetime’s Rita Rocks when she starts to feel her kids are taking her for granted. That one’s on at 8:30p/7:30 Central.
  • It was only a matter of time, but it looks like our first 90210 kid is checking into rehab on The CW tonight. Also, Ryan learns more about Kimberly than he could have ever suspected.
  • One of the contestants sets a new record on The Biggest Loser on NBC at the weigh in. Nessa and Smithy see the first scans of their baby, while Stacey is less than thrilled with Essex life on BBC America’s Gavin & Stacey at 8:40p/7:40 Central.

9:00p/8:00 Central

  • Anything to do with leeches is disgusting and gross, so why not send Mike Rowe to take on leech trapping on Dirty Jobs on The Discovery Channel. Ironically, ABC Family’s Greek ends their second season on “Hell Week,” or initiation for new pledges. I wonder what kind of gross things those kids will have to do and if Mike Rowe will appear there as well.
  • Hey, did you dig Michael Flatley critiquing last night on ABC’s Dancing With the Stars? Well, tonight he performs on the elimination show. Also performing are Missy Elliott and the Pussycat Dolls in a joint gig and a third batch of ballroom kids. You almost won’t care who goes home, will you? Or if you prefer sweatier “dancing,” you can always flip over to SciFi and tune in to ECW.
  • Jane must spark the memory of a girl suspected of killing her best friend so she can relive the events of the night and possibly clear her name on CBS’s The Mentalist. Meanwhile, on The CW, Megan makes attempts to reconnect with her estranged father on Privileged, while the girls try to do some charity work to boost up their Duke resumes.

10:00p/9:00 Central

  • How many of you truly believe that Paris will hang out with the winner of MTV’s Paris Hilton’s My New BFF? Since I can’t see your hands I’ll assume none of them are up and you all agree with me that there’s no way in hell this reality “friendship” will last.
  • Maybe the winner will move to Georgia so she can continue her “reality” streak by appearing on Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Isn’t that what they do now anyway, segueway into other reality programs?
  • I’d love to see some of those whiny babies on The Discovery Channel’s Toughest Race on Earth: Iditarod. Paris, too. Or maybe they can leave the wolves of Hollywood and join Shaun Ellis with the real ones on Animal Planet’s Living With the Wolfman.
  • Still on reality, SciFi offers up a new Scare Tactics, while A&E backs up The Rookies again, fist in “Tampa” and then “Jefferson.” Even Oxygen is jumping on the wagon with another reality show, this time starring Coolio, who’s losing the last tiniest shred of street cred he may have been hiding somewhere in the dreds. It’s single dad Coolio trying to juggle a career and family life. God, how many of these sub-par reality family shows do we need?
  • All that and not a script to be seen.  BET wraps up their scripted first season of comedy Somebodies tonight with back-to-back installments. Eli Stone, over on ABC, promises a twist, like reality television, while at the same time Eli struggles with defending Jordan against charges of insanity that could rip his firm out from under him.
  • Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, on NBC, AIDS takes center stage as a “voodoo” doctor’s prescriptions prove to be ineffective in saving the lives of those afflicted, or even really helping them. Over on CBS, Medina forces everyone but Martin to drop the case of a missing advocate to move onto the case of a child kidnapping in the mall on Without a Trace.

11:00p/10:00 Central

  • Need Manswers? Spike TV’s got ‘em. Need brilliant impressions and so-so sketches? TBS has you covered with Frank TV. But if you just need a good old fashioned look inside a community that specializes in sex change operations and recovery, then you need WE’s Sex Change Hospital.
