Spin City, season one – CliqueClack TV giveaway

Amazon.com

Up until now, the only DVDs offered for Spin City were collections of Michael J. Fox’s favorite episodes – Vol. 1 and Vol. 2. While those are fun, especially with his comments at the beginning of each episode, they weren’t enough.

Spin City: The Complete Season One hits store and cyber-shelves today, and I’m ordering my copy right now! It’s one of my favorite shows of all time. I love everything about it, including the writing and humor, and especially the characters. The early episodes were the best, because no one does the comic pause and line delivery like Michael J. Fox.

We’re giving away two copies of this title this week. All you have to to is leave a legitimate comment to this post, telling us your favorite moment of the show. Be sure to use a valid email address (so we can contact you if you win!). Only comments received by next Tuesday, November 10 at 5 PM ET will be eligible. Only one entry per person (duplicates will cause you to be disqualified). Only U.S.-based mailing addresses for shipment are eligible to receive this prize. Good luck!

I don’t have a favorite moment of this show. When Spin City was on, I was working two full time jobs plus a part timer, so I’ve never even seen it. Since one of my full time jobs was nanny, most of the shows I watched back then had puppets in them. I have heard great things about it, though and would love to check it out for myself!

November 4, 2008 at 1:50 PM

I did see a few episodes, but don’t have a favorite moment. I’d like to see the who season in it’s entirety.

November 4, 2008 at 2:17 PM

When Michael J. Fox was leaving the show, his last scene in front of the White House. I thought that was really funny. But there were a lot of funny moments on this show, and it’s really too bad that that disease pulled him away from it. He really made that show.

November 4, 2008 at 2:20 PM

My fave moment from Spin City was when the mayor got aroused during a press conference and couldn’t leave the stump because he was embarrased. I have not seen it since the original air date and I would love to re watch it!

Thanks

November 4, 2008 at 2:26 PM

favorite moment is when mike is tricked by stuart into dressing up in a fat suit and walking down a runway for a bachelor auction…loved that moment!

November 4, 2008 at 2:49 PM

Too many favorite moments. You said it in your article, “… no one does the comic pause and line delivery like Michael J. Fox.”

November 4, 2008 at 2:58 PM

the really old pug is just so adorable!

November 4, 2008 at 3:55 PM

No one favoite moment…but the interaction of this cast was great and to top it off with Michael J Fox’s brilliance…what a great show.

November 4, 2008 at 4:03 PM

I don’t have one favorite moment that I can think of.I just remember that Fox’s charactor reminded me of my bestfriend and we would laugh all the time about it.Great show!

November 4, 2008 at 4:11 PM

There are so many funny moments from this show. Anything involving Stuart, Carter, and Paul was hilarious. But my most memorable moment from the show was Michael J. Fox’s last episode. I was 13 or 14 at the time and Spin City was one of my favorite shows. I was devastated when I heard that Fox had parkinsons and was leaving the show. But the way he left the show was so perfect and classy.

November 4, 2008 at 4:31 PM

I don’t really have a favorite moment because I have not seen a whole lot of episodes I’ve only seen about three but I thought they were really funny there was this one I remember about christmas and how everyone started singing at the same time even though back to the future dude did not like that so I guess maybe that’d be my favorite moment :D

November 4, 2008 at 4:34 PM

My favorite scene from the show is the first scene with Heather Locklear, when she walked into the office and no one was expecting her-LOL. It’s from one of the later seasons, but I remember laughing at that pretty hard!

I’d love to win this!

November 4, 2008 at 4:59 PM

there were so many funny scenes and the best were with fox…the ones with his family ties mom coming on, or scenes with heidi klum. Classic comedy.the show always could make you laugh or make you cry..the best though were before fox left- that umph and real comedy left.

November 4, 2008 at 5:35 PM

lots of fav scenes with this show, great writing, top notch cast and MF’s timing. I seem to remember something about a statue that caused a stir

November 4, 2008 at 5:46 PM

The funniest moment that I can remember (and there are a lot I forgot) was when most of the Mayor’s staff walked out of a sauna and lined up for some sort of newspaper interview (regarding a segregated or men-only club).

Spin City was a great show, especially during the Michael J. Fox seasons.

November 4, 2008 at 5:50 PM

It’s hard for me to pick a favorite with this show, I loved them all. I liked the one with Woody Harrelson when he won the contest to be deputy mayor for a day, but it was supposed to be a contest for kids. I also liked the mayor trapped in a well and when he hid in a steamroom from a reporter all day long. And any of the ones where Stuart Bondek was dating that skanky sex fiend at city hall. I’m glad this is finally on DVD.

November 4, 2008 at 6:16 PM

I’d have to say when ehather locklear joined

November 4, 2008 at 6:30 PM

I can’t name a favorite moment because I only saw parts of it a couple of times. My then-spouse hated sitcoms and it wasn’t worth fighting for the remote. I liked the bits I saw, and have often wished I could watch a full episode or two. I’d love to win this!

November 4, 2008 at 6:31 PM

The repartee between Charlie Sheen and Heather Locklear was priceless.

November 4, 2008 at 6:35 PM

There was an episode once when the little pug (What was his name?) kept trying to kill himself. God, I laughed til I cried.

What a perfect giveaway for election day! :-)

November 4, 2008 at 6:52 PM

when the mayor got trapped in a well simply halarious

November 4, 2008 at 6:53 PM

Just the one liners as MJF tries to keep the bumbling mayor out of hot water

November 4, 2008 at 7:04 PM

I haven’t seen this show but would like too.

November 4, 2008 at 7:55 PM

I agree with Suetu, the pug trying to kill himself was the best.

November 4, 2008 at 8:49 PM

Paul moment when he was being picked on…..

November 4, 2008 at 9:02 PM

I would have a hard time picking out one memorable moment. I enjoyed them all, but I remember when Heather Locklear joined the show as being very funny.

November 5, 2008 at 6:13 PM

Any scenes with Michael J Fox were great, he was such a joy to watch…….but my favorite, sadly enough, was his final scenes in front of the white house.

November 5, 2008 at 7:35 PM

wow, I started thinking back to when Michael J. Fox was the lead character, he does have great timing. I love how Paul is always such a geek, loser, and Stewart is such a geeky lech! As far as a favorite moment during that first season? The entire season was hysterical!

Thank you. :-)

November 7, 2008 at 11:30 AM

Never caught more than a few episodes when it was on, because I didn’t have a TV during the majority of its run & only saw it when I was visiting friends who watched. Would love to see it from the beginning, so starting with Season 1 on DVD would be perfect.

November 10, 2008 at 10:58 AM

My favorite episode is when the mayor and Michael J Fox are at a hospital visiting sick kids and Jeff Gordon shows up. They start competing to see who can be the nicest person and start giving the kid a ton of autographs and memorabilia stuff. I haven’t seen the episode in a while so I don’t remember if that’s exactly what actually happened but it was pretty funny.

I also like the episode where MJF and Heather made a bet about who could go the longest without sex. Michael ended up cleaning the entire office because he had so much pent up energy.
