(Season 12, Episode 14 – “The Ungroundable” – Season Finale)
I think the movie Twilight opens this coming weekend, and I caught wind that this episode was going to be a parody of it. I’m a bug ol’ Buffy fan, but I never looked at the Twilight books, nor do I know anything about them. So, I have no idea how well this episode parodied Twilight other than it had a vampire theme. Maybe someone reading this can enlighten us.
The thing that definitely worked was the gray area of kids going with the goth look versus trying to look like vampires. Goth kids have been around since I was in high school, but back then they were just called geeks. Yeah, they lumped us all into one big category. Hey! Sorta like goths and vamps!
All-Butters episodes, I’m not a fan of. I know some people find him to be the funniest character on the show, but he only works when he’s playing off the main characters. Case in point, when Butters tried to suck the blood out of Cartman. Now that was funny.
The biggest laugh I got was from the opening scenes in computer class, with all of the kids playing some sort of FPS game as the teacher tried to teach. What was that, Call of Duty?
With half-hour shows, even season 14 episodes long seem to fly by. Thankfully Parker and Stone are contracted through 2011 for this show, and word is they’ll cap the whole thing off with a movie. Did you know ‘Imaginationland’ was originally planned to be that theatrical movie?
Just an OK episode for me. Not all that memorable. That is, until I walk by another vampire breeding ground: Hot Topic. Bwaaaaah!

That was the new Call of Duty: World at War, which I happen to be playing right now, in fact.
Just an FYI… the ep last night had nothing to do with the plot of Twilight. It was purely making fun of the fans. The book, while good, is really nothing so amazing to inspire such a rabid following. The whole phenomenon is baffling.
