Who killed Dirty Sexy Money’s Dutch George?

dirty-sexy-money-castSurely not a spoiler, since we learned the news of Nick’s dad’s passing in season one, episode one of Dirty Sexy Money. As this once great, now mediocre  show nears its end, we are left with the question, “Who killed Dutch?”

It’s been rumored that we’ll get some closure with this question, if they air the last four episodes, that is. Alas, it is only one mystery that will be solved as Dirty Sexy Money‘s season has been cut short by “no episodes reordered.” So we’ll never get to know why Nick turned into a bitch for the Darlings, why Letitia turned from a caring matriarch to a lackadaisical drunk, what happened to Brian’s other wife and children, why Juliet seems to have taken up residence on the island on Lost, why Simon Elder went from fascinating philanthropist to two-dimensional Bond villain … oh, so many unanswered questions.

Back to Dutch …

One way the writers could go is to make Dutch still alive, and Tripp may somehow know about it. I’m not sure why this makes any sense at all, but they certainly seemed to be hinting at it in the last episode. The mysterious organ donor (not livers and hearts; the actual organ donated to Brian’s church) seems to be Dutch, and he also seemed to know that Brian was his son, which I can’t recall if we knew or not. Regardless, if Dutch is alive, a lot of Darlings are off the hook.

If it turns out that Dutch’s mysterious reappearance of sorts is a red herring, here’s who didn’t do the deed:

Letitia — Been there, done that. Her trial is done, it wasn’t her, it would be lame for the writers to go there again. However, it could possibly explain her recent drinking problem.

Juliet — Yeah, obvious I guess, but she’s not even here to be accused, so that would make for some crappy TV.

Brian — I really can’t see that he did it. He’s got an angry streak, that’s for sure, but even if Dutch ticked him off, Brian is the least sneaky of all of the Darlings. There’s not much going on with Brian in the anger management department that we don’t know about, so he would have just screamed at Dutch, told him he hated him, and went back to the church to hear some old lady’s penance.

Karen — Sadly, I think the writers are setting up Karen and Nick to get together, and again, she isn’t really the type. It’s not going to be Karen.

Tripp — I kinda believe Tripp when he told Nick that he didn’t do it. They were best friends, and I think Tripp meant that and honored that, and he didn’t find out about the affair until after Dutch was dead anyway. For all of his manipulating, I don’t think Tripp’s the murderer.

So who do I think will be the culprit, provided Dutch is truly dead? Simon Elder. He’s clearly being made out to be pure evil. We know that he knew Dutch and that he’s got a lot — a lot — of secrets. Simon Elder is capable of making a huge donation to Brian’s church anonymously and also of making it look like Dutch did it. We’ll get some reveal about the files that Nick found back at the end of season one, and it will all come together. Season two has made us forget about that, but if they are smart, they’ll bring it back and wrap it up tight.

How do you think the Dutch George murder storyline will play out?

who is it that simon elder talks to on the phone. really not lucy lius characters as he seems to talk to “his boss”. if its not Dutch, then he is prolly crazy, cuz they havent introduced any other characters and I cant believe they would show more people at this show and theres already more people involved in this than in most series atm.
