The greatest title ever attached to a television show

monkey_cityFolks, you know that in my last 57 years writing for CliqueClack that I have rarely posted an item related to any shows involving animals. Oh, there was that “Joey Fatone Eaten By Giant Rat” post a few years ago and the my controversial “Nixon Tortures Fiddler Crabs” post during Watergate; yet, for the most part, I’ve stuck to items about Rip Taylor and reviews of infomercials.

But, I had to sit down and write a post about an upcoming TV show premiering on Animal Planet. Not because of the subject material, which actually sounds interesting, but because of the title of the program. The title of this new show is — are you ready — Dark Days in Monkey City. Brilliant! This is better than Tales of the Gold Monkey or even The Monkees. It sounds like a film noir that’s based in DC Comics’ Gorilla City.

The concept of the series, which premieres on February 10th, seems original enough. It’s a 13-part series that combines live action as well as graphic novel elements animated by comic book artists Joe Kelley and Joe Casey. It takes place in Monkey City, which is really in a deserted city on Sri Lanka. The show will follow the large Temple Troop of Macaque monkeys who dwell in the city as they love, live and fight the opposing Black Claws tribe. The show will be narrated  by John Rhys-Davies.

You know, I think I’ll need to break my 57-year long record and start writing about shows such as Dark Days in Monkey City. Now, if it starred Rip Taylor and was formatted into an infomercial it would be perfect.

Hey Richard (&/or any other people at CliqueClack),

Who is Aryeh S? Also add Bill White, Cate Cropp, Scott Tunstall.

We know every other writer (except Degon) from TVSquad, yet these 4 just recently popped up. You give guest clackers a nice lil intro for their posts, yet 4 new people showed up without any type of introduction or hello? What’s with that?

Aryeh was a guest clacker.

Sorry for the lack of introductions. Some of them were guest clackers that we took on as full fledged writers. Others applied, we tried out with a guest clack, and took them on too.

Eventually we’ll put up profile pages for everyone.

Tales of the Gold Monkey was so great.

How about best episode title? I think the upcoming “Criss Angel is a Douchebag” episode of Supernatural has to be up there.
