There are a few standouts on American Idol this season, namely Allison Iraheta and Kris Allen. Both of them turn in consistently good performances week after week. Danny Gokey is OK, but his star has faded over the past few weeks.
I had high hopes for Lil Rounds at the beginning of the season, but she’s gradually lost her spark with each new performance. I’m pulling for you, Lil, but your performances have been disappointing. Bring it, girl, or you’ll be going home soon.
My pick for the winner is Adam Lambert, and here’s why:
He exudes super-stardom. I have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, but on stage, he’s a star whether he’s singing by himself or with the group, or even just standing there in the group at the beginning and end of the show. He’s got that special something, and there’s no denying it.
He brings it every week. One week he’s making us weep with “Mad World” and the next he’s rocking out “Play That Funky Music.” Unlike the other contestants, I really look forward to seeing what Adam does each week, because I know it will be something new and special.
He may be gay, but both guys and girls are in love with him. I think it’s the eyes, eyeliner or not.
He doesn’t hold back. Every week, he gives it his ALL. I can’t imagine that he’s holding ANYthing back in his performances, even the ones that are quiet and toned-down. He must meditate or something before going onstage, because he never seems nervous or lacking in confidence.
He makes it look easy. My violin teacher used to tell me to work hard in rehearsals, but make it look easy in performances. You don’t want the audience to feel like you’re struggling. Adam makes it look incredibly easy, and I’m sure it’s because he puts so much time and effort into it behind the scenes. But he’s also incredibly talented, which helps.

It’s because he already has so much stage experience. When you’re in a broadway play like Wicked, you’ve got to bring it every night.
Adam was an UNDERSTUDY in Wicked on the tour of that show, NOT on Broadway. Sheesh, I don’t know why people don’t check their “facts”.
Wicked is still a Broadway show, that just happens to be the touring cast. It’s the same show, same blocking, same direction.
It’s not a factual error.
I haven’t read anything about any of this years idols. So I don’t know what their experiences have been. All I know is I could care less if Adam is gay, straight, or bi. I agree he should win American Idol, but don’t forget it is America voting and frankly he will be a star no matter how he finishes in the competition. I believe he should win because no matter what he sings he makes me love it even if it is a song I have never heard before. Even when he sings his rocker style I love it and I am not a fan of that type of music. I also think Alison has a chance too. She is so consistant. Good luck to all remaining. I just know I will miss them when the show is over for another season.

I think Adam should win. He is so far above the rest with his vocal range, confidence, creativity, etc. He’s the total package. I believe he is the best AI has ever had. His versatility will take him wherever he wants. I wish him all the best. I look forward to him every week and I can’t wait to hear him all the time.
I’m a guy, and I think Adam is HOT XD He has an amazing voice and I really think he will win. I’m not just saying that because he is attractive, he is a goooooood singer. When he sang ring of fire I was like WOW he made this song kickass :P Even if he doesn’t win he will have a career that’s for sure.
Adam is deffentally the next american idol. He’s different, Fresh, and has that it factor. He has something that draws you in to his singing every week. As my husband says, “he’s got MAD vocals”
The first time I saw Adam Lambert and heard him sing, I picked him as the winner of American Idol. He has what it takes to be a star, every performance is flawless and his vocal range is incredible. Simon never gives anyone a standing ovation, he did Adam. He has killer good looks, lots of gossip about him being gay, who cares! He resembles Elvis Presley, but better looking, has a lot of sex appeal. The way he dresses makes him even more interesting. He has what it takes to be a super star. I would love to hear him do Elvis.
Adam…Adam… Adam…. is the NEXT American Idol. Yes you are absolutely right. Adam’s is THE BEST performer in AI history, he made it so easy. As you noticed the rest of the contestants seems to struggle when they are on the stage. I’ve read an article about Adam’s previous job with
“Wicked” that Adam’s performance in AI is not near when he was in Wicked. Adam totally brought a new game to American Idol, and they are amaazed with his talents. Adam performance in IDOL is not like the theaterical at all.
Adam is perfectionist, I think he doesn’t want to disappoint his fans. His voice is so HOT and can sing anything. He looks HOT himself, also has a magnetic personality.
We are witnessing a new SuperStar is born.

I adore Adam. He’s a super talent and I hope he wins American Idol. He is creative, fresh, unique, unpredictable, powerful, tender. I look forward to his performances each week and vote many times over for him. Adam is one scrumptious guy. I’m a pretty conservative mom, but I love Adam’s sense of fashion, including the earrings, nail polish, and eye liner. I love it when he wears his hair in sharp angles or pulled off his face. And what a face!! But it’s the voice that really moves me. He can rock it out and bring tears to my eyes. Can’t get enough of Mad World. He sings it so beautifully. Go Adam!! You make your parents – and everyone who loves you – so very proud. Can’t wait for your next performance.
