CliqueClack TV birthday

I totally meant to make a much bigger deal about CliqueClack TV’s one year birthday, but like most other people I told about it today, it caught us by surprise. A year has passed so quickly, yet when we look back at everything we’ve done since October 1, 2008, it’s amazing we were able to fit everything in in only a year!

As a mini-celebration of 12 awesome months of CliqueClack TV, here are a few cool bits of info and nostalgia for you to gnaw on (sorry, it’s all we have in lieu of birthday cake).

According to our fancy-schmancy statistics doohickeys, here are our most popular posts from the past year:

  1. HIMYM: What’s the difference between peanut butter and jam? — I still can’t believe so many people still don’t know the punchline for this joke, yet still people land here daily.
  2. South Park – Kanye West: Gay Fish — The lyrics to this South Park original are still popular to this day. Damn, that’s a lot of Kanye haters.
  3. Kate Gosselin: You need to rethink your priorities — Rich’s great open letter to Kate of Jon & Kate Plus 8. I’d probably be craving a shopping spree and makeover too, if I were home with eight children. And a cheating husband, but we didn’t know that when the post was written.
  4. Damages – Season three predictions — What can we say? People are really, really itching for Damages to return and want to know what’s going on RIGHT NOW.
  5. Harper’s Island once looked much different — This post was popular when it aired in the U.S. and it’s popular now while it airs in other countries for the first time.
  6. Who died on House tonight? — Just the title alone is enough for people to be looking for what happened week in and week out, though this post dealt specifically with a biggie from last season. (Kutner! It was Kutner! I can say that now, right?)
  7. Adam Lambert is the 21st century Freddie Mercury — Someone actually linked this on Adam’s Wikipedia page for a spell (wasn’t us!), but because Deb had shouted out his praises early on in last season of American Idol, it got a lot of traction on its own. Incidentally, this post was written long before the American Idol finale where Adam sung with Queen.
  8. Saturday Night Live – Ben Affleck; David Cook — One of the two featured in that episode of SNL made it very popular. Betcha can’t guess who.
  9. What’s better for Wesley Crusher: Assrape or Snirkles? — I have heard from Wil himself that he would prefer one of those over the other, and it’s noticeably furrier.
  10. Trick or treating in TV town — One of our all-time greats, and just in time for us to bring it up again before this Halloween. This is a true gem for having lasted in the top ten for the entire year we’ve been here.

As another bit of wayback machining for you, our first post ever to be published was ‘Eureka: Stay Cool Under Pressure.’ Kind of an odd post to have appear first, though we did technically soft launch toward the end of September. Incidentally, here’s our official welcome post from a year ago today.

With over 2,900 posts, over 35 giveaways, and over 20,000 comments to the day, I’d like to wish a happy first CliqueClack birthday to all of our incredibly talented writers, both current and past, including guests. I’d also like to thank all of the wonderful commenters who’ve graced our pages because, without you, we’d not still be here today. In all seriousness, the quality and cordiality of the commenting here at CliqueClack has been a much needed breath of fresh air, and I thank you for that on behalf of the entire team.

Here’s to twelve more months of good times, good posts and good comments. And, of course, without pesky boundaries.

Happy first, and hoping you have many more. Just a few sites that are a daily must for me and yours is one. There was a short time over the holiday season when I wasn’t getting your daily input and it was a real drag. Keep up the good work, and many thanks!
