Heroes – Matt gets some revenge

The fourth season of Heroes is winding down to a close, and Samuel’s plans are beginning to come together. He’s shaping up to be quite a good villain, definitely the best we’ve seen on this show since the Sylar of season one. I’m hoping that the show won’t repeat the mistake that they made in season one by letting Sylar slip away. I’m looking forward to a strong and absolute resolution to Samuel’s story in the next couple episodes. Whether or not we’ll get it is another question altogether. Heroes has let me down before.

Sylar has just become completely tiresome for me. I think he either has to die or just go away at this point. He hasn’t really been an interesting character since sometime in season two. He was a great villain — a pure evil serial killer. Since he has been having his crises of conscience and went searching for his daddy and lost his powers and gained his powers and wanted to lose his powers I’ve been annoyed. Now he escaped another opportunity to get rid of him. I just don’t get it. Is Peter really that much of a sap? The dude just killed his brother weeks ago and now he’s rescuing him because of some future predicting dream?

I think the real noteworthy action of the night was happening at the carnival in this episode. Samuel sacrificed some of his own people to unite them against the rest of the world. Unfortunately, Noah is being punished as he was framed for the attacks on the carnival. There was a lot of set up in this episode for the final installments, and I’m eager to see how Claire is going to save her father (for a change), and what’s in store for Lauren and Tracy. I really hope Lauren doesn’t end up dead when all is said and done, but Heroes does have a track record for killing interesting blondes. Why can’t they kill some of the whiny characters?

I have to say that it was good to see Parkman muster up some courage in this episode. He was finally able to stand up to Sylar and get his revenge, even if it lasted for a very short time. I’m assuming that Peter is going to be successful in rescuing Sylar, but I suppose anything could happen.

Are you looking forward to the final installments of Heroes?

Heroes, get on with it, already. Let’s move the story along. I’m so tired of the carnival subplot.

Why couldn’t Claire’s blood heal everyone?

I think that only works when it’s convenient to the plot. :-)

I don’t think Samuel sacrificed any of his people. From what I could tell, the only fatality was Lydia, and everyone else was merely wounded. I assumed that Samuel had given Eli strict instructions to only kill his enemy to prevent her from turning the others against him.

It wouldn’t have mattered, but it still would have been nice for that idiot Claire, who went and warned the target and screwed the whole operation up, to have told everyone that her dad couldn’t have been the shooter, because he would have left a lot more dead bodies lying around the carnival.

Of course Peter rescued Sylar. What does the murder of his brother and dozens of other people matter when weighed against saving one gullible woman he’s known for at least two months now? Why, just imagine if he’d put this much effort into trying to rescue Caitlin.

Yes, I am very much looking forward to the final installments of Heroes.
