The Big Bang Theory – Sheldon “No Pants” Cooper

Although I truly enjoyed last week's ensemble effort on the show, I'm a sucker for a Sheldon-centric episode. Tonight was the epitome of Sheldon episodes. It was the Sheldon ep to end all Sheldon eps. Why, it was Sheldon-rific!

- Season 3, Episode 18 - "The Pants Alternative"

Sheldon in his new suit ... for now

“This suit’s only one color. That’s a lot of money for one color.” – Sheldon Cooper

… Of course, Leonard, Koothrappali, Penny, and Wolowitz were part of the success of the episode with me — no one can play off of Jim Parsons’ character like they can.

Even though the story revolved around a science award, the episode wasn’t all science jargon. It was just pure fun with tidbits of science thrown in. So, Sheldon finally won the Chancellor’s Award in Science, an award he feels he should have won years ago. The hitch is that he has to forfeit the award if he doesn’t make an acceptance speech … and he’s scared to speak in front of crowds. He could get trampled, you know.

Surrounded by his C-Men (they can’t be X-Men because the X stands for “Xavier”) in their efforts at an intervention to get him on stage, there were plenty of snicker moments for me. Penny’s power was to help him pick out a suit. The ones he chose were gaudy, flaky, and a white tux with tails. Penny chose the black one for him.

Nicely done, onto the next C-Man. Raj planned to get Sheldon to relax using meditation. For me, this was one of the best parts of the show as Sheldon chose to relax in his SIM City, Sheldonopolis. Now, why didn’t I figure he had his own little world revolving about himself? That should have been a given. Raj ran out on him when Sheldon said a monster was attacking the town — “If the children can’t run, leave them behind.” Perfect!

Leonard tried to psychoanalyze him, but ended up psychoanalyzing himself. Yet, that was what gave Sheldon his confidence. After all, if “damaged goods” like Leonard can get up every day to face life, he could give a little speech. But his confidence went awry once he was actually in place until Penny gave him booze. His speech ended up being bad science stand up. I think there might actually be a market for that, don’t you?

But the kicker is the lost pants and his whole routine showing up on YouTube. Priceless, classic Big Bang Theory for me tonight! Your thoughts?

Big Bang Theory rarely disappoints, especially with a Sheldon-centric episode. The “C-Men” moments had me cracking up, as well as the final YouTube ending. Even though they didn’t show Sheldon baring the dark side of the moon just thinking about it made me laugh.

Awesome episode !
Actually i really loved the parts with Leonard and his focus on his resentment toward her mother (hilarious cougar mother by the way) but all the parts were good, Sheldon who chose the white tux or country suit just priceless. Ah Sheldon he is unique.
