South Park – Holy crap, they showed us BLEEP!

Looks like Parker and Stone got enough death threats that they went in full-on censor mode, not having the guts to even let BLEEP name be mentioned, let alone be seen. Wimps. At least we learn who Cartman's dad was.

- Season 14, Episode 6 - "201"

Earlier today, news was going around the entertainment outlets over supposed warnings and threats made to the people involved with South Park because of them poking fun of BLEEP. It looks like it got to them … or at least they just had a whole lot of fun with it.

These past two episodes were so packed full of references to South Park seasons past, that it made my head spin. Really, only having Chef come back again somehow would it have been complete. Actually, I don’t think they showed us Ike. Or many aliens, if any. And probably a few other things I’m just forgetting. But, hell, I’m not complaining one bit.

The reveal of who Cartman’s father is — Scott Tenorman’s father, Jack Tenorman — fit just right. I think having it be some bizarre science experiment or Jimbo or someone else we already know would have been a let down or wouldn’t have come off as funny as this did. The fact that Cartman doesn’t even care that he took part in killing his own father — and feeding him to his half brother Scott — was typical Cartman, and it was hilarious.

I wonder now if, when the season 14 DVDs are released, we’ll get an “uncensored” version that takes all of the bleeping and “CENSORED” signs out, though I’m feeling pretty sure it was all part of the episode. Then again, maybe it was done so more people will buy the uncensored DVDs?

I wish Chef would come back, but unfortunately Isaac Hayes is dead.

I think it was moreso Comedy Central wimping out than Matt Stone and Trey Parker choosing to censor the ‘Muhammads.’ The only part that may have been intentional by MS and TP was the final “I learned something today bit…”

April 22, 2010 at 2:23 PM

EXACTLY. Comedy Central are the wimps, they censored that episode so much.

April 21, 2010 at 11:53 PM

yep I cant believe that comedy central did this and Matt and Trey allowed it this, better come out uncensored on the dvd. I shows how the Islamic world holds the US by the nads. I guess we now lack the courage of our convictions!! oh well!!

Wait, I thought the Denver Broncos were Cartman’s Dad … erm … Dads.

:)

Ugh….dosn’t anyone do research before they write something….author is fail in his opinion.

Uhh.. No they beeped it out as a joke… If you were a true South Park fan you would have known that from the previous seasons when they made fun of Family Guy.

Lets pay attention here. southpark.com states when you try to watch episode 201 “We Apologize that south park studios can not stream episode 201 at this time. After we delivered the show, and prior to broadcast, Comedy Central placed numerous additional audio bleeps throughout the episode. we do not have network approval to stream our original version of the show….” Obviously the version that aired tonight on Comedy Central was not the episode that Trey Parker and Matt Stone intended to have shown.

Pure Bull shit I hate Muslim who bull this shit. Its not like south park hasnt attacked every other religion! Ass holes

April 22, 2010 at 3:11 AM

Wow, I just read that revolutionmuslim site’s response to people’s reactions. They are like the Muslim equivalent of neo-NAZIS, quoting Osama Bin Laden as a rational. Fuck them.

I’m not anti-Islam, but I am anti-dicks. It’s sad that South Park/Comedy Central are getting attacked, and me being upset about that is probably the same as Cartman being upset that his *** is a g****r

The networks censored it, not the south park creators, as an intelligent being has already pointed out a few posts below WORD FOR WORD as it came from south park studios website themselves!! I can prove witness to that as i got the same message when i tried to view it. They could not stream it because the extra added bleeps(Again added by the networks, NOT southpark) where unexpected, NEW, and not added to the online streaming version yet.
I saw the episode and bleeping out the prophets name was bearable although annoying at times because they say it so much, But the part that kills me most is the part at the end when they bleep out like 3 characters for a long period of time while they seem to saying something of great importance!! WTF is this? What a let down. I hope all oppressors Burn in hell! And soon…

Uh, the last bit WAS a joke

April 22, 2010 at 7:16 AM

Well, it looks like even Reuters is confused as to whether it was a joke or not: https://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100422/tv_nm/us_southpark_muslims

That article is about last week’s episode :)

April 22, 2010 at 8:03 AM

~Oh no it isn’t, damn my time travelling eyes!

April 22, 2010 at 11:17 AM

Southparkstudios.com says I cant watch it because Comedy Central isnt letting them air the episode the way they intended it to air. So whatever happened last night was highly censored. I dont know what happened because Comedy Central isnt letting me watch it online!!

I haven’t watched SP in ages, although I love the show. However, hearing this is not at all a surprise. Political correctness has gone terribly, terribly awry. We are hostage to terrorists and bullies. There is no longer free speech in America. The constitution is no longer the rule of our nation. I’m not sure what is, but I’d venture to guess Matt and Trey will figure it out long before the masses! Long live Matt & Trey!
