While new series may have had a rough go of it this past season, I for one enjoyed the recently concluded year of television. Here’s what my TV Sundays looked like during the 2010-2011 season.
Dancing with quasi-stars is still wildly popular, and able to boost cop shows that follow it, as ‘Castle’ and ‘Body of Proof’ will attest. There was music in the air for ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ as well, with the show seeing its best numbers since the season premiere.
I don’t think we were given any good clues about season five of ‘Californication’, but here’s one guess: we watch as Hank struggles to complete his mandatory 288 hours of community service. Imagine all of the jobs he could mess up!
The big news this week was a 22 episode renewal for ‘Fringe’. If you follow the ratings, that probably comes as a bit of a shock. What could FOX have up its sleeve? My best guess, they are going to finally actually try on Friday, and move ‘Bones’ to join ‘Fringe’.
I knew Hank Moody had some sick in him, but his dreams on this week’s episode of ‘Californication’ were extra disturbing. I was pretty sure that the church scene was a dream, and yet a tiny piece of me thought, “Well, maybe….”
As has become the norm, when the weather gets nice and the clocks spring forward, television ratings take a hit. We saw it again this week as ‘Idol’ hit a surprising low, and the newly renewed NBC comedies took a ratings boot to the crotch.
I never watched ‘The X-Files’, but I have to imagine that David Duchovny was getting a little wink in at his character, Fox Mulder, when he dressed up in his black suit with his hair combed like that. He did indeed look like an FBI agent!
